
忠告:有条件的,应该尽可能看英文书(如果你不想走冤枉路)。因为中文书1.原创性著作几乎没有;
2.错误多,大约有如下之一种或几种情况:
(1)因翻译粗糙带来的错误;
(2)因校勘粗疏带来的错误;
(3)因抄袭粗略带来的错误(以上不做举例,为了不得罪某些棋界权威人士);
(4)因不明体例带来的错误(如翻译时删去原书末的索引。不知道索引有许多妙用,是不该删去的。甚至《国际象棋词典》都没有索引!也没有译名对照表!又如参考他人著作而不附书目表。抄袭的就不论了);
(5)因版权观念淡薄带来的错误(如以译著为自著!)
3.指导性价值低。
我发现东方人的思维方法和西方人的思维方法差别很大。东方人为形式的、抽象的、浪漫的。西方人为实质的、具体的、经验的。(不详论)表现在各方面。就象棋说,中国象棋的理论也就几句口诀加几句棋谚而已。或者类似《棋经论》的几百字的小文。你从开始学习到有所体会或真正明白可能要若干年。不会给你详细解释,靠你自己去悟。而国际象棋的战略类理论著作就已蔚为大观。且不说半个世纪以前的经典《我的体系》,前不久我买到的《开放线》(《open files》),就是一部理论佳作。不但分类研究,而且条分缕析,解说详细,论证充分。因而,中英文棋书,就其指导性价值来说,不言而喻是英文的好。西方人精于分析的特点运用在棋上,其结果是棋艺要高出一筹(中国象棋最高等级分2700+,国际象棋最高等级分2800+)国际象棋虽说来源于何国还不确定,但显然是西方式思维的产物。昔人云:师夷长技以制夷。我中国要在棋上赶超西方,非在思维方式上学到其长处不可,非善加利用西方人的著作不可。
选书原则:
1.宁少而精,勿多而滥;
2.以适合初中级水平为主,适当照顾高级。
精品标准:
以读者评价确定,不取专家评价。读者评价更为公正、客观。专家评价好的,读者不一定受益。故本文选书标准依照英文亚马逊网站的读者评价。如果把书分为九等,则本文只取第一等(上上品)和第二等(上中品)。标准暂定如下:
1.平均评价4.5星的为上中品;
2.平均评价5星或几乎5星,且评价人数多于10人的为上上品;
3.平均评价5星或几乎5星,且评价人数少于10人的为上中品。
